Dear Men-do Not Marry These 10 Types OfWomen..

DEAR MEN-DO NOT MARRY THESE 10 TYPES
OF WOMEN..
Guys, this is exclusively for you. Have you ever
wondered why the women you date always turn
out to be annoying or weird in some way?
Have you ever thought that perhaps you have
been choosing the wrong type of women?
Below is a list of ten different types of women
you should avoid, according to an article I just
came across. Read carefully and see if you can
learn one or two things
.
1. The Chatterbox
This is the woman who never shuts up, barely
stopping to breathe. Seemingly only concerned
about what is going on in her life, she always
has to make a comment about everything and
dominates conversations.
2. The Desperate Chick
This type of woman will seem fantastic at first,
until she starts talking about your wedding
location, how many kids she wants and the
name of your future dog–right after the first
date! When a woman advances WAY faster
than normal, watch out. She NEEDS a man so
bad that she’s willing to put anybody in that
slot, even the homeless
guy on the corner.
3. The Overly-CriticalWoman
Anything you do for this type of woman is
simply not good enough. Nothing seems to
work unless it is done according to her
standards. Anything that is said by anyone will
be quickly taken out of context to become
some sort of insult or some reason to wage
war against the world. This type of woman has
plenty of emotional baggage and will make you
an angry and bitter person as there will be
nothing but misery with her.
4. The Bimbo
This type of woman can’t obtain a GED but has
managed to secure a PhD in the science of the
bedroom. This is an intellectually challenged
woman who looks great but, in all honesty,
shouldn’t open her mouth. Her skills are
unquestionably only rooted in the physical
realm and unless you’re just after one-night
stands, you do not want to bring a silly girl
home to meet Mom and Dad. The majority of
girls you see on the streets everyday fall into
this category,
5. The High Maintenance Chick
If this type of woman breaks a nail, she
expects you to drop everything you’re doing to
drive her to the salon immediately. Her daddy
always told her she was a princess and she
expects to be treated like one at all times. She
has expensive taste and expects you to shower
her with only the best things and take her out
to posh places on a regular basis. If you don’t
have a lot of money and a penchant for luxury,
don’t even bother.
6. The Clingy Girl
This woman is a nuisance who can’t go
anywhere or do anything without the company
of her man. She’ll adopt your interests, calls
20 times a day and fly off the handle anytime
she’s not around to monitor your behavior.
This type of woman will smother any chance of
you missing her by insisting that you spend
every waking moment with her, refusing to let
you go out with the boys or spend any
significant amount of time with anyone else.
7. The Baby’s Mama
This woman has a great physique, great
personality and her toes are pretty too! There’s
only one problem–she’s got a pretty large
amount of children with assorted “baby-
daddy’s”,and when women like this get
desperate, any and every guy has the potential
to be “daddy.” This woman got knocked up by
somebody that she was supposedly in love
with, and not only is she a bad judge of
character, she’s GROSSLY irresponsible. The
same guys that are “jerks” now are the same
guys she once thought the world of and had
unprotected sex with
.
8. The Gold Digger
The Gold-Digger will compliment you on your
expensive watch, ask you what kind of car you
drive, what you do for a living, where you live
and so on. Like the high maintenance woman,
the Gold Digger is basically looking for a sugar
daddy, she’ll size you up within the first five
minutes and drop you just as quickly if your
cash flow runs out and you can’t take her
shopping anymore. These types of women will
just suck your wallet dry and leave you
emasculated. Fortunately,youcan usually see
this type coming from a mile away. She wants
to write out the names of all her designer
items and post it on Instagram, Twitter and
Facebook.
9. The Club Girl
Club girls are nothing more than fantasy
women who have been practically living in bars
and clubs since they hit the legal drinking age.
They have beautiful faces with full lips, big
doe eyes, great legs, and all the curves you
could ever ask for. The problem in dating
these women is that they love to wear clothes
that show off their great assets not just to
you, but to every Tom, man-hood and Harry
on the street. A woman like this may be
carefree and wild; however, once you take a
closer look, you’ll realize that her entire life is
a party and most nights will end with her
puking in your car. Or waking up hungover, in
some guy’s bed in the morning.
10. The Feminist
This type of woman can never be pleased by a
man and she believes that men are the cause
of all the pains and suffering of society. It is
her strong belief that women are much more
intelligent than men and are capable of doing
things “the right way”. You don’t want to
waste any time with this type of woman
because anything that you do will always be
negative to her.

7 Things Every Girl Is Afraid To Let Any GuyFind Out

1. That their mom or dad still shouts on them
till date.
2. That they just farted (messed) in a room or
just finished shitting in the toilet. "How can
such odor come from me?" Lol
3. That they're uncomfortable with the
position of their panties or inner wear esp on
an outing.
4. Girls almost don't want to see any guy
before they have their bath. I'm not sure why.
5. Esp in school, no girl likes to let guys know
that she failed a course or subject except Mr
Friendzone. After school, if she came out with
a low grade, she never speaks of it. Ever!
6. Girls believe that beyond the shakara, the
rihanna moves and their beauty, there's
nothing really special about them, and they
dread that guys will find out about this secret.
That s why guys that make girls feel special
win.
7. Finally, women are easy to get and they
dont want guys to know about this. Why? Coz
girls are prone and open to like people easily
than guys and they fear they'll be helpless
when guys take advantage of this.

President Obama to grant legal status to 4.5m illegal US immigrants

Yesterday, President Obama made a
blockbuster announcement on immigration
that got a lot of Americans divided. In his new
plan, about 4.5 illegal immigrants in the US
will now be able to get legal status and
allowed to apply for work permits. This applies
to only those who have no criminal records,
have been in the US illegally for at least 5
years and are willing to pay their outstanding
tax. The Republicans are angry though and
call it "lawless amnesty". They believe it will
encourage more people to arrive the US
unlawfully.
"The action by the president yesterday will
only encourage more people to come here
illegally. It also punishes those who have
obeyed the law and waited their turn."
Republican Speaker of the House said today
But fortunately for Obama, he doesn't need the
permission of congress to do this. It's called
executive action - where a president can
bypass the legislature, which he has done.
Continue...
There are about 11 million undocumented
immigrants in the US now and President
Obama believes that a mass deportation of
these people “would be both impossible and
contrary to our character.”
He made the controversial announcement in
an address from the White House yesterday
Nov 20th You can read his full speech (It's
quite a long one) culled from CNN, after the
cut...
My fellow Americans, tonight, I'd like to talk
with you about immigration.
For more than 200 years, our tradition of
welcoming immigrants from around the world
has given us a tremendous advantage over
other nations. It's kept us youthful, dynamic,
and entrepreneurial. It has shaped our
character as a people with limitless
possibilities -- people not trapped by our
past, but able to remake ourselves as we
choose.
But today, our immigration system is broken,
and everybody knows it.
Families who enter our country the right way
and play by the rules watch others flout the
rules. Business owners who offer their
workers good wages and benefits see the
competition exploit undocumented
immigrants by paying them far less. All of us
take offense to anyone who reaps the rewards
of living in America without taking on the
responsibilities of living in America. And
undocumented immigrants who desperately
want to embrace those responsibilities see
little option but to remain in the shadows, or
risk their families being torn apart.
It's been this way for decades. And for
decades, we haven't done much about it.
When I took office, I committed to fixing this
broken immigration system. And I began by
doing what I could to secure our borders.
Today, we have more agents and technology
deployed to secure our southern border than
at any time in our history. And over the past
six years, illegal border crossings have been
cut by more than half. Although this summer,
there was a brief spike in unaccompanied
children being apprehended at our border, the
number of such children is now actually lower
than it's been in nearly two years. Overall,
the number of people trying to cross our
border illegally is at its lowest level since the
1970s. Those are the facts.
Meanwhile, I worked with Congress on a
comprehensive fix, and last year, 68
Democrats, Republicans, and Independents
came together to pass a bipartisan bill in the
Senate. It wasn't perfect. It was a
compromise, but it reflected common sense.
It would have doubled the number of border
patrol agents, while giving undocumented
immigrants a pathway to citizenship if they
paid a fine, started paying their taxes, and
went to the back of the line. And independent
experts said that it would help grow our
economy and shrink our deficits.
Had the House of Representatives allowed
that kind of a bill a simple yes-or-no vote, it
would have passed with support from both
parties, and today it would be the law. But
for a year and a half now, Republican leaders
in the House have refused to allow that
simple vote.
Now, I continue to believe that the best way
to solve this problem is by working together
to pass that kind of common sense law. But
until that happens, there are actions I have
the legal authority to take as President -- the
same kinds of actions taken by Democratic
and Republican Presidents before me -- that
will help make our immigration system more
fair and more just.
Tonight, I am announcing those actions.
First, we'll build on our progress at the
border with additional resources for our law
enforcement personnel so that they can stem
the flow of illegal crossings, and speed the
return of those who do cross over.
Second, I will make it easier and faster for
high-skilled immigrants, graduates, and
entrepreneurs to stay and contribute to our
economy, as so many business leaders have
proposed.
Third, we'll take steps to deal responsibly
with the millions of undocumented
immigrants who already live in our country.
I want to say more about this third issue,
because it generates the most passion and
controversy. Even as we are a nation of
immigrants, we are also a nation of laws.
Undocumented workers broke our
immigration laws, and I believe that they
must be held accountable -- especially those
who may be dangerous. That's why, over the
past six years, deportations of criminals are
up 80 percent. And that's why we're going to
keep focusing enforcement resources on
actual threats to our security. Felons, not
families. Criminals, not children. Gang
members, not a mother who's working hard
to provide for her kids. We'll prioritize, just
like law enforcement does every day.
But even as we focus on deporting criminals,
the fact is, millions of immigrants -- in every
state, of every race and nationality -- will still
live here illegally. And let's be honest --
tracking down, rounding up, and deporting
millions of people isn't realistic. Anyone who
suggests otherwise isn't being straight with
you. It's also not who we are as Americans.
After all, most of these immigrants have been
here a long time. They work hard, often in
tough, low-paying jobs. They support their
families. They worship at our churches. Many
of their kids are American-born or spent
most of their lives here, and their hopes,
dreams, and patriotism are just like ours.
As my predecessor, President Bush, once put
it: "They are a part of American life."
Now here's the thing: we expect people who
live in this country to play by the rules. We
expect that those who cut the line will not be
unfairly rewarded. So we're going to offer the
following deal: If you've been in America for
more than five years; if you have children
who are American citizens or legal residents;
if you register, pass a criminal background
check, and you're willing to pay your fair
share of taxes -- you'll be able to apply to
stay in this country temporarily, without fear
of deportation. You can come out of the
shadows and get right with the law.
That's what this deal is. Now let's be clear
about what it isn't. This deal does not apply
to anyone who has come to this country
recently. It does not apply to anyone who
might come to America illegally in the future.
It does not grant citizenship, or the right to
stay here permanently, or offer the same
benefits that citizens receive -- only Congress
can do that. All we're saying is we're not
going to deport you.
I know some of the critics of this action call
it amnesty. Well, it's not. Amnesty is the
immigration system we have today --
millions of people who live here without
paying their taxes or playing by the rules,
while politicians use the issue to scare people
and whip up votes at election time.
That's the real amnesty -- leaving this
broken system the way it is. Mass amnesty
would be unfair. Mass deportation would be
both impossible and contrary to our
character. What I'm describing is
accountability -- a commonsense, middle
ground approach: If you meet the criteria, you
can come out of the shadows and get right
with the law. If you're a criminal, you'll be
deported. If you plan to enter the U.S.
illegally, your chances of getting caught and
sent back just went up.
The actions I'm taking are not only lawful,
they're the kinds of actions taken by every
single Republican President and every single
Democratic President for the past half
century. And to those Members of Congress
who question my authority to make our
immigration system work better, or question
the wisdom of me acting where Congress has
failed, I have one answer: Pass a bill. I want
to work with both parties to pass a more
permanent legislative solution. And the day I
sign that bill into law, the actions I take will
no longer be necessary. Meanwhile, don't let
a disagreement over a single issue be a
dealbreaker on every issue. That's not how
our democracy works, and Congress certainly
shouldn't shut down our government again
just because we disagree on this. Americans
are tired of gridlock. What our country needs
from us right now is a common purpose -- a
higher purpose.
Most Americans support the types of reforms
I've talked about tonight. But I understand
the disagreements held by many of you at
home. Millions of us, myself included, go
back generations in this country, with
ancestors who put in the painstaking work to
become citizens. So we don't like the notion
that anyone might get a free pass to
American citizenship. I know that some worry
immigration will change the very fabric of
who we are, or take our jobs, or stick it to
middle-class families at a time when they
already feel like they've gotten the raw end of
the deal for over a decade. I hear these
concerns. But that's not what these steps
would do. Our history and the facts show that
immigrants are a net plus for our economy
and our society. And I believe it's important
that all of us have this debate without
impugning each other's character.
Because for all the back-and-forth of
Washington, we have to remember that this
debate is about something bigger. It's about
who we are as a country, and who we want
to be for future generations.
Are we a nation that tolerates the hypocrisy
of a system where workers who pick our fruit
and make our beds never have a chance to
get right with the law? Or are we a nation
that gives them a chance to make amends,
take responsibility, and give their kids a
better future?
Are we a nation that accepts the cruelty of
ripping children from their parents' arms? Or
are we a nation that values families, and
works to keep them together?
Are we a nation that educates the world's
best and brightest in our universities, only to
send them home to create businesses in
countries that compete against us? Or are we
a nation that encourages them to stay and
create jobs, businesses, and industries right
here in America?
That's what this debate is all about. We need
more than politics as usual when it comes to
immigration; we need reasoned, thoughtful,
compassionate debate that focuses on our
hopes, not our fears.
I know the politics of this issue are tough.
But let me tell you why I have come to feel so
strongly about it. Over the past few years, I
have seen the determination of immigrant
fathers who worked two or three jobs, without
taking a dime from the government, and at
risk at any moment of losing it all, just to
build a better life for their kids. I've seen the
heartbreak and anxiety of children whose
mothers might be taken away from them just
because they didn't have the right papers.
I've seen the courage of students who, except
for the circumstances of their birth, are as
American as Malia or Sasha; students who
bravely come out as undocumented in hopes
they could make a difference in a country
they love. These people -- our neighbors, our
classmates, our friends -- they did not come
here in search of a free ride or an easy life.
They came to work, and study, and serve in
our military, and above all, contribute to
America's success.
Tomorrow, I'll travel to Las Vegas and meet
with some of these students, including a
young woman named Astrid Silva. Astrid was
brought to America when she was four years
old. Her only possessions were a cross, her
doll, and the frilly dress she had on. When
she started school, she didn't speak any
English. She caught up to the other kids by
reading newspapers and watching PBS, and
became a good student. Her father worked in
landscaping. Her mother cleaned other
people's homes. They wouldn't let Astrid
apply to a technology magnet school for fear
the paperwork would out her as an
undocumented immigrant -- so she applied
behind their back and got in. Still, she mostly
lived in the shadows -- until her
grandmother, who visited every year from
Mexico, passed away, and she couldn't travel
to the funeral without risk of being found out
and deported. It was around that time she
decided to begin advocating for herself and
others like her, and today, Astrid Silva is a
college student working on her third degree.
Are we a nation that kicks out a striving,
hopeful immigrant like Astrid -- or are we a
nation that finds a way to welcome her in?
Scripture tells us that we shall not oppress a
stranger, for we know the heart of a stranger
-- we were strangers once, too.
My fellow Americans, we are and always will
be a nation of immigrants. We were strangers
once, too. And whether our forebears were
strangers who crossed the Atlantic, or the
Pacific, or the Rio Grande, we are here only
because this country welcomed them in, and
taught them that to be an American is about
something more than what we look like, or
what our last names are, or how we worship.
What makes us Americans is our shared
commitment to an ideal -- that all of us are
created equal, and all of us have the chance
to make of our lives what we will.
That's the country our parents and
grandparents and generations before them
built for us. That's the tradition we must
uphold. That's the legacy we must leave for
those who are yet to come.
Thank you, God bless you, and God bless this
country we love.

Do Not Get Married Unless You Ask YourPartner These Important Questions

Do you want to have children, and if so, when?
How many?
How important is religion to you? Could you
survive in household where there are two
different, perhaps disparate views on religion?
Are you gonna eat that?
Are we going to allow our relative live with
us?
How close will we be to your parents?
OK, well, can I at least have half?
Do you like my friends? Do you expect me to
hang out with your friends often?
How will we divide up money? How will we
tackle debt? How will we decide what to save?
How important is equality in a marriage?
I just don’t understand why you won’t give me
half—like, I know it’s a good sharwarma, but
can I at least have a BITE?!
If we ever hit a rough patch, would you be
willing to partake in couples’ therapy?
Oh my god, this has a tomato on it. Why
would you let me eat this?!
What will our morning routine be? Our evening
routine?
How will we divide household chores?
You’re really being super rude right now. Do
you need to take a nap?
Are we able to openly talk about our sexual
needs and preferences?
Do you see us traveling often?
Where will we spend the holidays?
What the hell is bugging you?
What do you mean, you’ve been reading my
text messages? Those are private! I gave you
my passcode six months ago and you held
onto it this entire time??
Where do you want to settle down? Where do
you want to retire?
How much affection do you require in a given
day?
Why don’t you trust me?!
Do you like animals? Do you want a pet?
Will we donate to charity?
Do you think it’s ok for me to read your text
messages behind my back?
Public or private school?
Will we celebrate cultural holidays?
Do you have a plan to care for your parents?
No, I don’t really think you are a “uptight
insecure sandwich hog.” Don’t you say things
to blow off steam, too?!
Have we been honest with each other about
our health histories? Is there anything we
should prepare for?
If we were able to live off of one salary, do you
think one of us should stay home and raise
our family?
When have I ever not shared my sharwarma
with you?
When have I ever liked tomatoes?!
Would you ever serve in the military?
Are you afraid of getting older?
Do you think that maybe we’re not right for
each other after all?
Have you ever committed a crime?
What is your political stance?
Do you want to just eat the tomato-y part and
I’ll eat the rest?
PDP or APC?
What other questions do you think should be
asked before getting married? Let us know in

"My only regret is not winning African footballer of the year' Jay Jay Okocha

When asked about any regret as a footballer, legendary footballer Austin 'Jay Jay' Okocha said;
"If I have any regret that would be not winning The African Footballer of the Year. But then, I don't think I was meant to because I gave my best, but at the end, it wasn't good enough. However, I had a fantastic playing career"
When asked why no other footballer has been able to fill the vacuum of the No.10 position he left behind, Okocha replied;
"I don't want to sound arrogant but the truth it that there is something special about me. Sometimes, you have special players in a squad, when you lose them, it will take like five to ten years to get another set of such players. Not that the people trying to fill the vacuum are not good, they are great in their own way, but they are not just special. With time, Nigeria will get the special one that will fill the vacuum I left" He told Encomium

Niger State Governor reveals his Romantic Side

Gov-Aliyu-family Niger State
Niger State can let us know if Governor Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu is a good governor but one thing we now know thanks to a recent interview is that the Governor is “a romantic husband.”
To celebrate his 59th birthday, the Chairman of the Northern Governors Forum revealed his romantic side including how he met his wife, why he chose to remain married to one wife, how he connects with his 6 children and other tidbits.

You can read the rest of the interview via Vanguard. Excerpts below.
On How He Met his Wife
“Luckily for me, I married a woman I love and a woman I pursued for more than four years. It was like a prophecy that i was going to marry her. I made the prophecy myself. I actually went to a girl friend’s house and I saw the picture of my wife and I looked at it and I said to the senior sister to my girlfriend in form of prophecy that ‘this is my wife’ and I asked, ‘who is she.?’
“They tried to describe her and I never knew I was going to meet her. Honestly, with her photograph I saw, I just fell in love with her. When I eventually met her, she was more beautiful than what I saw in the picture,” the governor stated.
Romance & No Polygamy
“Most people would want to know the rest of the story. I want to confess to you that I am a very very romantic man and, because I am a little straight forward again, polygamy was not and still not attractive to me and that is why probably I have only one wife.”
On his Family Life
“I make sure I have time and discuss with my wife and children. We are always together. Whenever I travel, I buy books for my children and I usually commit them to reading them by placing prizes and other gifts for whoever finishes reading the books first. This is just to make them vast in reading and to make sure they read the books. So, we relate very well and discuss a lot. As you see me outside, so you see me at home and, in terms of romance, I am very sure my wife is very happy with me. I am very sure of that one,” Aliyu declared.
On how Having 1 Wife keeps him Energetic & Focused
“There are some of us with abundant energy and, most of the time, I do not expend too much energy at home but on responsibilities bestowed on me. If I have four wives, by the time I jump from one room to another, I would have exhausted my energy but thank God I have only one wife and I have abundant energy for other jobs!”

Robbers Disguised as LASTMA Officials Arrested for Extorting N35,000 from Motorist

LASTMA-officials
Two suspected robbers disguised as LASTMA officials in Lagos have been arrested for robbing a man of N35,000.

The suspects were identified as Funsho Williams and Adekogbe Olabode.
Here is the victim, Felix Adesanya‘s account, as reported by Global Village Extra:
“They said I had committed a traffic offence and forcefully entered the vehicle, introduced themselves as LASTMA officials. They later demanded my wallet, ransacked it and took N30,000 with a threat to take me to their office if I did not cooperate and summed up the money to N60,000.
In order to meet up with my appointment, I went on my knees begging for mercy, but they said I should take them to the nearest ATM or face the risk of forfeiting my vehicle and paying a N120,000 fine.“Left between the deep-blue sea and the devil, I followed them obediently. At the ATM, they demanded to know my account balance, but I did not allow them see it, I withdrew N5, 000 and gave it to them, making it N35, 000 in all”.
LASTMA boss, Babatunde Edu condemned the robbery, and stated that the suspects are not LASTMA staff.

Students Attack Female Teacher with Machetes in Imo State over “Skimpy Outfit” Dispute

Man Arrested in Handcuffs
Some male students Obosima Secondary Technical School in Imo State attacked a female teacher with machetes.
The unfortunate incident occurred because the victim, Mary-Ann Oguezuonu, scolded a female JSS2 student who had changed from school uniform into a skimpy outfit that was deemed inappropriate for a school environment.

Oguezuonu threatened that school authorities would send her away from the school if she was ever seen dressing in that manner again. While advising the young girl, an SS1 male student confronted her, telling her to stop embarrassing the girl, Vanguard reports. He then grabbed the teacher’s blouse, as he yelled at her.
Other teachers found out what had happened, and immediately sent the male student into the staff room, where he was subsequently flogged.
As Oguezuonu was nursing her five-month-old baby in the staff room, the male student mobilized other students, suspected to be cult members, and they attacked her with cutlasses.
The victim is reportedly in critical condition, as doctors battle to save her life.
Chimaobi Precious Agu, who is said to be the main suspect in the attack, is currently at large. Police authorities are currently investigating the case, and some arrests have been made.

Asa VS Nneka: Who is more celebrated internationally?

Asa N NnekaNigerian music has definitely come a long way. Recent years have witnessed the astronomic rise and dominance of the African music space by Nigeria. This is evidenced by the continued domination of several award platforms including BET, MAMAs, MOBOS, and Channel O Music Video awards by Nigerian artistes.

Today, Showdown parades two of Nigeria’s popular singers – Asa and Nneka. Both unarguably stand out on the international scene due to their unique sound. They have featured on the biggest stages in the world, rubbing shoulders with the best and winning accolades in the process. But who among them is the most celebrated internationally? Music buffs bare their minds. Excerpts:
ASA:
Born in Paris, France, Bukola Elemide famously known as Asa, is the only daughter from a family of four kids. The songwriter, instrumentalist and artiste started her career in Lagos, and trained under the legendary Peter King. She took the Nigerian music scene by storm in 2004 when she released her debut singles, Adaba and Jailer, which were followed by her-self titled album, Asa, in 2006. Asa has clinched many awards and nominations including the Prix Constantin in 2008 and French Music Awards Victoires de la Musique nomination for Female Artist of The Year 2011.
Her other albums include Live in Paris, Beautiful Imperfection, and Bed of Stone, which was released August this year. Prior to the release of Bed of Stone, the album was reported to have sold over 400, 000 copies in advance.
NNEKA:
After she opened for reggae dancehall star, Sean Paul, in Hamburg, Germany, Nneka (Nneka Lucia Egbuna) has never looked back. Born and brought up in Warri, Delta State, Nneka is a Germany-based Nigerian artiste. Described as a radical singer, songwriter and actress, she has been active in the music scene since 2003. In 2005, Nneka dropped her first album entitled, Victim of Truth simultaneously in Germany, England, France, Netherlands, Nigeria and Japan. Later that year, she had her maiden tour which took her to Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Victim of Truth attracted rave reviews and was described by the UK Sunday Times as the “Most Criminally Overloaded Album of the Year”, comparing it to Lauryn Hill’s The Miseducation. Nneka’s other albums include No Longer At Ease and Soul Is Heavy. She has won several awards including the Nigerian Entertainment Awards for Best Indigenous Artiste in Nigeria and Best International Artiste respectively. She has also featured in a couple of movies including Lake of Fire, Relentless, and Eine Andere Liga among others.
…And the people’s verdict:

Asa is spectacular Kelechi Ejikeme
My position is not to undermine any of them because they are both spectacular in their careers and play the same music genre. But to be specific, Asa is spectacular beyond comparison so I give it to her.
Nneka has amazing talent Ijeoma Okwutu, nutritionist
Nneka is simply of a special breed, an amazing talent and fearless musical evangelist. Listening to her songs is just like listening to a hard and fearless preacher. Judging from what I know about both acts, Nneka is far more celebrated internationally than Asa.
Asa, Nneka two of a kind Martins Agala
Asa and Nneka are two of a kind. Both of them are Nigeria’s great ambassadors and role models. For me, comparing the pair is like comparing one’s left to one’s right hand. They are two of a kind and the sky will be the starting point of their careers.
Asa takes the day Ogunkule Bosun, undergraduate
Both acts are very famous and well celebrated internationally. But as for the more popular, I think Asa is the one. That was why her latest album, Bed of Stone, sold as much as 400,000 copies even before it was officially launched.
They are simple and humble Gbemisola Olowude, financial analyst
I’m not interested in determining which of them is more popular internationally. My concern is that both of them are soaring in their careers but more importantly, what thrills me is their simplicity and humility. Despite their fame and high profile status, neither of them is flamboyant or pompous.
I give it to Asa Obazelle Godson, teacher
I give it to Asa because I know about her more than Nneka and I believe that it is the same internationally. She has also dropped more albums than Nneka. But beyond popularity, they are both great talents.
They are great stars Angel Mbonu, undergraduate
Asa and Nneka are great stars doing great things for themselves, their families and the country at large. While Nneka recorded a song for the 2010 FIFA World Cup entitled Viva Africa, Asa performed alongside Fefe at the Sydney Festival in 2011. And that is just a tip of the iceberg; we should all hail them.
Give them national honours Edmund Onyeke, student
The Sun should encourage the federal government to honour Nneka and Asa with national honours, because they have recorded more positive achievements than many national award recipients. Countries that do things rightly would have honoured them long ago. The Sun should focus on this and stop trying to create enmity between them by playing up the popularity game.
Asa is more dynamic Ejile Gabriel, undergraduate
Just because of Asa’s Jailer, I’m endeared to her and I give it to her; she is more dynamic than Nneka.
It’s Asa Great Ekhide, civil servant
I give it to Asa because she has dropped more albums and singles. I would say that in the music industry, the more quality songs you drop, the more you soar in popularity so, it is Asa all the way.
It’s Nneka Okonkwo Nnachetam, undergraduate
It is only a person that doesn’t know much about the artistes professionally that would vote for Asa. I am not saying that Asa is not popular. What I am trying to point out is that in terms of international recognition, Nneka has a wide edge over Asa because apart from being a recording artist, she also acts and has featured in great films and recorded soundtracks for movie producers.
They are patriotic Fred Onwei, businessman
One great thing that Asa and Nneka have going for them is that they always think home. There are many popular Nigerian artistes abroad who have never set foot on Nigeria. I am talking about the likes of Sade Adu who is well celebrated overseas but has chosen to forget her roots. But Asa and Nneka always visit home to identify with their people. And for that, I celebrate them and urge them to keep it up.
Why the controversy? Dele Abiodun, importer
Why does The Sun always feast on controversies? I’ve noticed that if your paper is not throwing up one controversy, it is reinforcing existing ones or screaming blue murder on its covers just to create some controversy. But it is good if you are making money out of it.
It’s another close call Chigozie Madu, teacher
It’s another close call like your last edition that featured Amber Rose and Nicky Minaj. Nneka and Asa are very popular both locally and internationally. They have both featured at great shows and concerts and have won several local and international awards. So, considering their achievements and profile cumulatively, I would say it is a close call.
This is evil journalism
–Femi Akinlefe, public relations expert
I have complained severally that your Showdown column is not doing Nigeria any good but harm. The Nigerian entertainment industry is as volatile as it is in all climes. But rather than come up with columns that would stabilize the industry, you chose to always stir the already turbulent industry with your Showdown. That to me is evil journalism and you should desist forthwith.
Nneka is more popular Adaora Egbuna, beautician
I love Asa and her style of music but in terms of popularity internationally, I think that Nneka carries the day. I believe that Nneka is more popular. I have been following her career for a long while and I have noticed that she does more international high profile concerts than Asa and that is a testimony to the fact that she is much more recognized abroad compared to Asa.
Asa, popular in Nigeria; Nneka, celebrated internationally Stan Okanya, student
Judging from what obtains in Nigeria, Asa would carry the day but as regards international status, Nneka is more popular. That is not to say that both of them are not popular at home and abroad but each one has her strengths and weaknesses.
The fear of Showdown… Chikelu Ndulue, businessman
Showdown is making a strong impact and I urge you to keep it up. I hail you for coming up with this concept because it checkmates our artistes. And I can assure you that soon, the fear of Showdown will be the beginning of wisdom for artistes and celebrities in the country. But I will advice you to maintain definite pages for the column and resume promoting it on the cover.
Let’s celebrate them –Folake Adebayo, accountant
It is better to celebrate the achievements of both Asa and Nneka and shower encomiums upon them. I believe that they need our support more than this topic you are treating. We should learn to praise the few citizens that are promoting our country’s image whether in or outside the country.

Obama Plans to Protect Over 4 Million Illegal Immigrants from Deportation

President Obama Delivers Statement On Humanitarian Crisis In Iraq
United States President, Barack Obama, has unveiled a new immigration plan that will protect over four million undocumented immigrants from deportation. However, the plan is causing causing controversy, because he plans to implement it without consent from the Congress, and despite opposition from many including Republicans.

Here’s what the new immigration plan entails, as reported by CNN:
  • Offering papers and work authorization to up to four million people who are undocumented parents of U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents, as long as they have lived in the U.S. for five years or longer
  • The changes will offer those who qualify the chance to stay temporarily in the country for three years, as long as they pass background checks and pay back taxes
  • Those who qualify will not be offered a path to eventual citizenship or be eligible for federal benefits or health care programs
  • Obama will remove the upper age limit of 30 years old from a program known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) or Dreamers that allows those brought illegally to the country as children to stay, offering relief to thousands more people
  • The DACA program will cover anyone who arrived in the country before 2010 and will extend a previous two-year guarantee of relief to three years
However, Obama has warned that the new immigration plan will not protect criminals.
“If you meet the criteria, you can come out of the shadows and get right with the law. If you’re a criminal, you’ll be deported. If you plan to enter the U.S. illegally, your chances of getting caught and sent back just went up,” he said.
The president emphasized that the plan also entails bolstering border security and making it harder for unauthorized outsiders to enter the United States.

EU Ambassador Slams Katsina Governor Shema Over “Kill Political Opponents” Speech

PIC. 30. EU BRIEFING IN ABUJA
Ambassador Arrion michel (l) and his Deputy, Richard Young, at the EU briefing in Abuja on Thursday
Earlier this week, a video allegedly showing Katsina State governor, Ibrahim Shema, urging a group of his supporters to “kill” and “crush” political opponents hit the internet, sparking public outrage.
European Union ambassador, Michel Arrion publicly condemned the speech during the EU briefing that took place in Abuja yesterday, NAN reports.

He called on political actors in the country to desist from using hate speeches and shun violence.
“Unfortunately, we all fear some electoral violence; we really insist that it is a duty for all players and all stakeholders of the political bodies, the government and the media to really make sure that violence is not used, that hate speech is avoided.
“I will not hide what I read today in the press. If really the speech delivered in Hausa by the Governor of Katsina (Ibrahim Shema) is real and confirmed, I would say it is the beginning of something that is a serious source of concern for us.
“He’s quoted as having said: “you should not be bothered with cockroaches of politics. What do you do when you have a cockroach in your house? and the crowd respond `you kill it, yes, you must crush them.
“Those kinds of statement are extremely dangerous and not acceptable.
“I’m not sure people using that kind of language realise what it means and I want to be really clear on that, we have to be careful and there is no good reason whatsoever to call someone a ‘cockroach.'”
Recalling the 1994 genocide in Rwanda, the EU representative said that such hate speeches instigated acts of violence that could hamper the development process of any nation.
Arrion confirmed that an EU election observer mission to Nigeria would be in the country, on a “long-term basis” from December till April to observe the election process.
He said the observation team would be sent to the six geopolitical zones in the country to monitor the credibility of the elections and also observe the post-election process.
In a separate statement, the United States expressed concerns over what it described as  “violent political rhetoric” and reiterated the need for stakeholders to promote a peaceful election environment.
The statement, which was made available by the U.S. Embassy in Abuja, specifically condemned the statement made by the Governor Ibrahim Shema of Katsina State.
It said: “The threat rhetorical threat of violence undermines the democratic process and is utterly unacceptable in a democratic society.
“The United States reiterates its call upon all Nigerians to refrain from advocating, fomenting, or condoning violence before, during, or after the elections.
“Participants in the electoral process must demonstrate passion for their convictions and beliefs in a manner that shows respect for opposing differences.”

120 APC members sign for Jonathan’s impeachment

tambuwa APCNo fewer than 120 House of Representatives members may have signed to commence impeachment proceedings against President Goodluck Jonathan. The lawmakers are members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

A member of the APC caucus, who pleaded for anonymity, said more lawmakers had indicated interest to append their signatures in the register opened for those who wanted President Jonathan impeached.
But the Deputy Majority Leader of the House, Leo Ogor, said the project would fail on arrival. He told newsmen that the president had not violated any rule to deserve impeachment.
“The president is unaware of what happened today. So, bringing it (impeachment) up, it is going to be defeated. The president has done no wrong, impeachment should not even be part of the issue,” he said.
Ogor urged members to jettison such plans, arguing that the notice of impeachment was inconsequential, as the president had no hand in what transpired at the National Assembly.
Also reacting, the Chairman of House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Mohammed Zakari, said: “The notice of impeachment was not on the order paper today (yesterday), but it will not be strange if it comes up in the future.”

Orlu Senate seat: Group rejects Izunaso

OrluThe Orlu Zone Conscience and Integrity Forum (OZCIF) has described the four-year of representation of Imo West Senatorial District by the National Organizing Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Osita Izunaso, as a failure.

In a statement signed by Onyemauchechukwu Albert Orisah, national coordinator, released after its members embarked on a sensitisation mission and mobilisation of Orlu people for next year’s senatorial election, the forum stated that Izunaso owed the zone a debt of gratitude, as he had been  “duly favoured and empowered by the people of Orlu, who raised him from obscurity to become a senator of the Federal Republic,” adding: “We are amazed why he should think that Orlu zone Senate slot is his birthright despite his disastrous and colossal failure to give the people responsive and adequate representation in the past.”
The group frowned at Izunazo’s ambition to contest for the senatorial ticket of the APC, while remaining as national organizing secretary of the party, saying APC would lose the election if he is fielded.
The group stated: “How can Izunaso retain his office as the national organizing secretary of the party, while contesting for senatorial election, even when a layman knows that he was supposed to have resigned his position since October 29, 2014, a month to the scheduled senatorial primaries of the party? How can Izunaso be a prosecutor, witness and judge over his own case?
“The unfortunate thing is that a party like APC that prides itself as a credible alternative has allowed inordinate PDP converts to dent the image of the party and the earlier something is done, the better.”
The OZCIF wondered why Izunaso wants to return to the Senate, and advised APC not to make the blunder of giving him its ticket.
“If PDP, as a bad party, could stop a sitting senator because of poor performance, why should APC that prides itself as a credible alternative sponsor somebody who did not do much as senator?”
The group enjoined lovers and supporters of democracy and good governance to ensure that “the long awaited change is allowed to blossom in 2015, by rejecting Senator Izunaso.”
It advised APC and the Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, to avoid fielding unpopular candidates so as not to cause protest votes against the party.

APGA holds special convention December 17 to ratify Jonathan’s adoption

APGAThe All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has fixed December 17 for a special national convention to formally adopt President Goodluck Jonathan as its candidate for the 2015 presidential election.

Also, the convention will be used to ratify the appointment of the Anambra State Governor, Chief Wiliie Obiano, as the party’s leader and chairman of its Board of Trustees (BoT) and adopt the APGA amended Constitution.

This was the outcome of a meeting by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party held in Abuja. The APGA ruling organ also ratified the suspension of the Abia State Chairman of the party, Prince Nnanna Ukaegbu, with immediate effect for alleged anti-party activities and directed its National Vice Chairman, South-East, Uchenna Okogbuo, to oversee the affairs of the party in conjunction with the Abia State Executive Committee of the party.
According to a statement signed by APGA National Chairman, Chief Victor Umeh, and the National Secretary, Dr. Sani Abdulahi Shinkafi, the NWC resolved that the purported clearance of Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu by the five-man National Assembly Screening Appeal Panel should be reversed and his non-clearance restored.
On the reasons for its decision, the NWC stated: “The five-man National Assembly Screening Appeal Panel became truncated and therefore, improperly constituted, when it did not sit as a full panel in accordance with Article 23(2) of the APGA Electoral Guidelines for the 2014 primary elections.
“The aspirant, when asked in his nomination form, sworn under oath, failed to disclose the pendency of a criminal charge against him at the Federal High Court, Lafia.
“Given the aspirant’s political history and voyage, the National Working Committee noted that the aspirant might defect to another party if elected on the platform of APGA.”
The NWC noted that the aspirant had, in the past, moved from the PDP to ANPP, then to Hope Democratic Party and back to the PDP and now to APGA. The wave of defections the party had suffered recently from elected political office holders who absconded from the party with the party’s mandate is a great source of concern for the party.”
Elaborating on the resolutions, while speaking to newsmen, Umeh declared that APGA would no longer offer its platform to politicians who would use the party to win elections only to dump it later.

Fayose to Oshiomhole: "Go and Die" Governor should keep shut

Lol. These our leaders eh! From jumping the fence to now trading words. I don't know exactly what's going on between these two governors - Ayo Fayose of Ekiti state and Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State. Yesterday Governor Oshiomole blasted Governor Fayose saying;"If the Ekiti Governor is too lazy to read and too politically illiterate to know what is happening in Edo State House of Assembly, we expected his psychedelic media aides to simply shut their loud mouths rather than behave like capering neophytes." Biko what is capering neophytes? Anyway, governor Fayose has replied Oshiomhole via his Special Assistant on New Media. See the press statement after the cut...

Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has told the Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole to keep his mouth shut and stop meddling in Ekiti State issues.

The governor said Oshiomhole lacked moral rights to comment on happenings in the Ekiti State House of Assembly, having locked up the Edo State House of Assembly for over six months.

A statement issued by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka read; "It is unfortunate that we are in a country where people who should naturally bury their heads in shame still speak.

"Aides of a supposed Comrade Governor, who look a hapless widow in the eyes and told her to "go and die" ought to know that they lack moral rights to speak in a saner clime.

"However, because we are in a Nigeria where anything goes, aides of a governor like Adams Oshiomhole, who relocated the sittings of his State House of Assembly to his bedroom in the Edo State Government House can open their oppressive mouths and defend the indefensible.

"Is it proper for a State House of Assembly to sit in the Government House? Should a State House of Assembly complex be put under locks and keys for six months? And can actions taken in the sitting of a House of Assembly held inside the Edo State Government House be said to have stamp of legality?

"Here we are with a supposed progressive Comrade Governor perpetuating ilegalities in Edo State with lawmakers of his party, APC sitting exclusively in the Government House where he resides with his wife and children, and instead of his aides to remove the timber in their boss' eyes, they are getting concerned with the toothpicks in another person eyes.

"The reality is that whether the APC lawmakers are 15 or 5, the lawmakers cannot sit anywhere else apart from the State House of Assembly. Or are they saying that the National Assembly can also relocate to Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos?

"It is our advise that Governor Adams Oshiomhole should solve the problems in the Edo State House of Assembly and stop meddling in the Ekiti State affairs because on June 21, 2014, the people elected their governor in person of Peter Ayodele Fayose, and millions of APC evil machinations cannot stop him from governing Ekiti State for four years."

Jonathan ’ll win without rigging, Presidency replies Amaechi

Jonathan-SpeechThe Presidency yesterday reacted to a statements credited to Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi on the 2015 general elections. Speaking on Wednesday at Eagle Square, Abuja venue of the Salvation Rally organised by the  All Progressives Congress (APC), Governor Amaechi warned against any attempt to rig the forthcoming elections as he vowed that the main opposition party would carry out “civil disobedience” as well as form a “parallel government.”

But reacting yesterday, Dr Doyin Okupe, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, faulted Amaechi, that Jonathan would win the next election without rigging.
Okupe recalled that previous polls held under the present administration had been free and fair. “Since Nigerians know for a fact that the Rivers State Governor has not been living in the moon, but has been in this country since the commencement of our present democratic experiment, they are definitely at pains to understand why he has failed to acknowledge the successes that have attended our electoral processes since President Jonathan came on board.
“It is a well-known fact that the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan has remained faithful to its commitment to electoral transparency in all elections conducted since the electoral reforms of 2010. Unlike what obtained in the not too distant past, President Jonathan has ensured that the electoral commission remains truly independent of all influences and manipulations and this has won the Nigerian electoral process a lot of accolades from the local and international communities.
“The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which is the President’s political party, had lost elections in several states and electoral constituencies with the President usually being the first to congratulate winners of such contests. This is the hallmark of President Jonathan’s statesmanship and an undisputable commitment to democratic norms and values.
“It is therefore, preposterous, evil and mischievous for Mr Amaechi to suggest that there were plans by the Federal Government to rig any elections in today’s Nigeria. It is even more evil and certainly anti-democratic for him to threaten “civil disobedience” and the forming of a parallel government if his party loses the 2015 general elections.
“We unequivocally condemn this stance by Governor Amaechi, which borders on attaining power through threat, intimidation and subversion of popular will.If Mr. Amaechi is so much afraid of his party crashing to defeat in the general elections, what he needs to do is to advise the leadership of his party to either give up in good time or repackage itself in order to appeal to Nigerian voters who must definitely have the final say in the democratic process.
“We also want to sound a note of warning to Mr Amaechi and other desperate players on our political scene that Nigeria has moved away from the dark days of dictatorship and resort to brigandage and that any attempt for any individual or group of individuals to resort to extra-legal means of acquiring power, would be dealt with by the laws of the land,” Okupe noted.

Tambuwal: APC accuses Jonathan of political desperation

Atiku tambuwalThe All Progressives Congress (APC) has accused President Goodluck Jonathan of sabotaging his administration’s war against Boko Haram on the altar of personal vindictiveness and political desperation.

In a statement issued in Abuja yesterday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party alleged that the president’s desperation to oust Aminu Tambuwal as the speaker of House of Representatives, was why the House could not meet yesterday as scheduled to consider his request for an extension of the state of emergency in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states.
‘’For a President, who has severally stated his administration’s commitment to the battle against the insurgency in the North-East, is it not a cruel irony that he allowed his personal ego and political desperation to override his sense of propriety by moving to have Tambuwal removed instead of having the House of Representatives sit to consider his request?
‘’Does anyone need any more evidence that the president’s sole pre-occupation is how to win the 2015 elections, rather than the fate of the hundreds of Nigerians who are daily being killed and maimed at the epicentre of the insurgency? Had he been genuinely committed to the fight against the insurgents, would the president not have allowed the House to sit to consider his request? How does he feel now that the entire National Assembly has been shut down because of his capricious action?’’ it queried.
The APC further alleged: “The plot was simple: The Presidency decided to use the reconvening of the House as an opportunity to remove the speaker. While Deputy Speaker, Emeka Ihedioha, was accorded a presidential ride into the premises of the National Assembly, House Speaker, Tambuwal, was barred from entry by the hordes of security agents who have been deployed solely for that purpose.
‘’Their plan was to ensure that, with Tambuwal locked out, Ihedioha would preside over the reconvened House and the speaker will then be removed. The consideration of the request to extend the state of emergency was not important to the Presidency. The fate of the Nigerians who are suffering from the insurgency, which has displaced 1.5 million people, does not bother the Presidency. All it wanted is to remove Tambuwal,’’ the party said.

APC Presidency: Senator begs Buhari, Atiku to step down for Kwankwaso

buhari atiku warChairman of the Senate Committee on States and Local Governments, Kabiru Gaya, yesterday appealed to former head of state, General Muhammadu Buhari and former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, to step down for Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2015 polls.

Gaya, a former governor of Kano State, who made the call in an interview with newsmen in Abuja, said the duo of Buhari and Atiku, as elder statesmen should allow a younger and more vibrant man, like Kwankwaso to fly the party’s ticket.
He also said the achievements of the Kano State governor, who is spending 75 per cent of the state’s budget on capital projects and 25 per cent on recurrent expenditure, were enough proof that he would transform the nation’s economy, if elected.
Senator Gaya also made reference to Kwankwaso’s antecedence as a former Minister of Defence, adding that he would be able to tackle effectively, the insurgency in the North-East states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe.
“I am not trying to introduce politics into the situation, but we have to tell ourselves the truth. Governor Kwankwaso was a Minister of Defence, and is now a serving governor. He was also a lawmaker, who rose to become a deputy speaker of the House of Representatives in the Third Republic.
“He was also special adviser to the President on Dafur. He was a member of the Niger Delta Development Commission. Hence, he has the credentials. He is a young man, too. He can work for 18 hours a day. I believe that all our elders and leaders in the APC should support him. If you look at the situation in other countries, their citizens are going for young people to become their president.
“In America, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama for instance, are young men, who became president having youthful hair but grew grey hair in power because of, mainly the external problems that their country was facing.
“We won’t mind if Kwankwaso, if elected president, has to grow grey hairs in the course of tackling Nigeria’s internal problems. Look at how he had ensured peace in Kano. He will do the same for the country being a former Minister of Defence,” he said.

Delta 2015: Ex-lawmaker canvasses support for Obuh

tony-obuhFormer member of the Federal House of Representatives representing Aniocha/Oshimili Constituency, Prince Ned Nwoko, has thrown his weight behind the governorship ambition of Tony Obuh, saying his emergence is a good choice for the people of Delta State.

In a chat with journalists in Abuja, Nwoko said Obuh had all the needed qualifications to be governor of the state, urging other aspirants to queue behind him and support his emergence.
Describing Obuh as the best for the office, the former Delta North senatorial candidate, stated that Obuh’s emergence was a break from the norm of political class taking leadership position in the state.
According to him, “Obuh is a proven technocrat, he has no baggage of allegations against him, I have only met him once and I find him to be very humble. I think he will bring in fresh air into the system.
“Tony Obuh is an Anioma son, he is qualified like any other aspirant. We should come together and support Obuh. If we support him, he will have a sense of obligation when he gets into office and he will perform and do his best as a governor.
“People will also help him to chart a course to alleviate poverty and carry on with the programme of government. And because he will emerge through an overwhelming support, he will do things well and Deltans will be happy,” he said.
