Graphic photo: 10 killed at Niger College ofEducation blast today


At least 10 people were killed today after a
female suicide bomber blew herself up at the
Federal College of Education Kontagora in
Niger state today November 12th.
One of the students of the school, Mary Okafor
who spoke with AFP, said they were all at the
library reading for their semester examinations
when they heard the bomb go off
"We saw bodies on the ground between the
library and the female hostel. Among the
bodies were two dismembered women who we
believe were the bombers. At least 10
students were killed and several others
injured. They have all been moved to the
general hospital. We have all been asked to
vacate the school. The authorities in the
town have asked all schools to close." she
said
See a pic from the scene today. Not sure if it's
the body of the suicide bomber or one of the

Photos: President Jonathan unveils new N100notes


The new N100 note designed to commemorate
Nigeria's 100 years of amalgamation was
unveiled by President Jonathan today Nov.
12th at the state house during the Federal
Executive Council meeting.
While presenting the notes to other members
of the Council, the president said it was a
laudable gesture by the CBN to produce the
notes which would serve as a reminder of
Nigeria's centenary celebration.
Speaking on the new notes, Central Bank
governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele said the notes
will be in circulation from December 2014
