Man caught eating dead woman's face in hotel room in the UK

A 34 year-old man, Matthew Williams
nicknamed Fifi, was allegedly found eating a
woman’s eyeball and face in a hotel room.
The horrified security staff at The Sirhowy
Arms Hotel in Argoed, South Wales, burst into
the room after the murder suspect refused to
let them in.
The hotel staff called police who hit Matthew
Williams with a high voltage taser which
knocked him to the floor. He was formally
arrested but died moments later due to high
voltage.
His victim, a 22-year-old woman who he'd
just met, was also confirmed dead from her
injuries.
Williams had just been released from jail two
weeks earlier, where he'd served half of a five-
year prison sentence for a violent attack on
his partner.
According to Jill Edwards, who lives near the
hotel, he said: ‘This animal was eating this
girl to death. Security said they told him no
girls in his room and he didn’t answer, when
they opened his door he was eating her face.’
A Gwent Police spokeswoman said: ‘We were
called at 1.23am after a reported that a man
was attacking a woman in the Sirhowy Arms
Hotel. On arrival both the male and female
were still at the location. A taser was
discharged and a man was arrested. The
woman was located with injuries and has
since been pronounced deceased. While under
arrest, the man became unresponsive. Officers
and paramedics administered first aid but he
has since been pronounced deceased. A
murder investigation is underway into the
death of the woman.’

Photo: Army releases 42 suspected Boko Haram members in Borno

42 suspected members of Boko Haram were
today Nov. 6th released to the Borno state
government after investigations carried out
by the Nigerian army showed they had no
ties with the sect.
Presenting the released suspects to the state
governor, Kashim Shettima, the Deputy
Director of Army Public Relations of the 7
Division, Col. Sanni Usman said
investigations showed the men who were
arrested at various times in Maiduguri and
other parts in Borno state, had no connection
with the sect. He announced a donation of
N100,000 each from the Nigerian Army to the
released men to help rehabilitate and
reintegrate them back into the society.
Receiving the men, the state governor
thanked the army for conducting a thorough
investigation. He also gave cash gifts to all
the released men. 39 of the released suspects
were Borno state indigenes while the
remaining three were foreigners from Chad,
Burkina Faso and Cameroon.
One of the released suspects, a 300 level
student of the University of Maiduguri said "I
never knew that I could be free again but
today marks a new beginning in my life. I will
tell my story to my grandchildren."

Awards Africa (TFAA) has announced the
date and host state for the 2014 edition of
the event: “We are excited to announce that
The Future Awards Africa 2014 will be hosted
in Lagos, Nigeria on Sunday, Dec. 7th.
This is the 9th edition of the awards, which
became an African prize last year, with a
commemorative ceremony hosted by the
President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,
Dr. Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential

Africa will be saved by Africans, then young

Ebola cases are doubling every 2o days in
the worst affected countries, and the World
Health Organisation (WHO) has called it “the
largest, most complex and most severe we’ve
ever seen”.
TFAA will be deploying its network of winners,
nominees, alumni, celebrity, brain trust and
continental media partners for this
#StopEbola campaign – to get 1 million
young Africans to donate social media
updates and then for young people to donate
a minimum of $25
(4,250naira) each directly to the WHO
through the United Nations Ebola Response
Fund. It has also selected 50 of Africa’s most
influential celebrities to headline the
campaign.
The Future Awards Africa 2014 is presented

Two Robbers Shot Dead In Front Of Bank In Port Harcourt [See Photo]

Policemen have shot dead two suspected
armed as they were attempting to rob an Eco
bank branch located on Agip Junction along
Ikwerre road in Port Harcourt, Rivers state
capital.
The police officers were said to have gotten
intelligence report of the suspected gang of
robbers.
According to an eyewitness, when the gang
came under fire from the police, the driver of
the vehicle that conveyed them escaped,
leaving his gang behind, PM News reports.
One of the female customers who spoke on
condition of anonymity said: “All I heard was
gunshots.
The driver of the red car and the persons killed
ran towards the school (Government Girls
School,Rumueme) and escaped, one them was
shot dead instantly while another one who
tried to escape was also shot dead.”
However, it could not be confirmed if the two
dead victims armed robbers as some said a
banker was one of those killed.
Attempts to speak to bank officials proved
abortive.
The incident was confirmed by Ahmad
Mohammad, the Police Public Relations
Officer, PPRO, for command.

High Court in Lagos after a secret trial.
Four suspects, Adamu Mohammed,
Mohammed Mustapha, Bura Husseni and
Mohammed Ibrahim , were taken before the
court on charges relating to terrorism but only
one of them was convicted while the others
were reportedly released.
Three members of Boko Haram were earlier
this year sentenced to a collective prison term
of 75 years by a Lagos Federal High Court
after also being found guilty on charges of
terrorism.

Nigerian Soldiers Accused Of Killing 16Innocent Men In Yobe

Nigerian soldiers in Yobe, northern Nigeria,
have been accused of killing sixteen men they
arrested for suspicion of being the members of
the Islamist militant group Boko Haram.
According to community leaders in Dogo Tebo
area of Potiskum in Yobe state, the victims
were found dead at the Potiskum General
Hospital in Yobe just hours after they were
arrested by the soldiers.
It was gathered that when the corpses of the
16 men were looked at in the hospital morgue,
bullet wounds were seen on their bodies.
Hence, community leaders on Thursday
demanded an inquiry into the matter.
Investigation carried out by AFP revealed that
the troops rounded up 17 people, including an
imam, from the Dogo Tebo area of Potiskum
as they left a mosque after morning prayers
on Wednesday.
Residents and hospital staff said the bodies of
all but the imam were later found in the
morgue at the Potiskum General Hospital.
“All the bodies have gunshot wounds on
them,” said a nurse, who asked not to be
named because the person was not
authorised to speak to the media.
The bodies had been brought in by
soldiers and were formally identified by
community leaders and residents from
Dogo Tegbo, the nurse said.
One resident, Tukur Danu, said the cleric
was not among the dead and added: “We
are worried about what they could do to
him.”
Community leaders are now claiming that the
16 men were picked up and killed because all
of them were from the Kanuri ethnic group
that forms the bulk of Boko Haram’s
membership.
“We demand a probe into this
unjustifiable m****r,” said one community
leader in Dogo Tebo, who asked not to be
identified for his personal safety.
“We believe they were killed on suspicion
of being Boko Haram because they were
Kanuris.”
Another leader informed that all the victims
were related either by blood or marriage.
“The government should look into this
cold-blooded m****r and ensure justice is
done because being a soldier is not a
licence to kill at will on mere suspicion.
“Our fear is we don’t know what they will
do next,” he said, adding that three more
people were arrested late on Wednesday
in the same area.
Potiskum is the commercial hub of Yobe state,
which with neighbouring Borno and Adamawa
states has been under emergency rule since
May last year because of the Boko Haram
insurgency.
