"I don't have any budget attached to my office, come and probe me' - Patience Jonathan

First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan says she is ready to be probed following accusations from some quarters that her office is funded from the federal budget. She said this while speaking at the PDP Women rally in Edo state yesterday March 14th.

"Mrs. Jonathan is the first lady of this country. There is no budget, no constitutional rights. So if from tomorrow you hear Mrs. Jonathan is corrupt, am I holding your money? Are you giving me any budget ? I don’t have any budget attached to my office. Go and probe my office. Go and probe me and see whether there is any budget attached to my office. Go and probe and see whether there is any money they send to my office. I don’t touch your money. Whatever I have, I struggled for it. I worked for it. I suffered for it,” she said.

APC Governorship aspirant in Kogi state dies in fatal accident

APC Governorship aspirant in Kogi state, AbdulAziz Omeiza Aliyu (pictured above) and his younger brother, Salmanu Adeiza Aliyu lost their lives in a fatal road accident that happened at Jere town along Kaduna – Abuja federal highway yesterday March 14th.

A family spokesman, Abubakar Aliyu said the 36 year old politician was returning from Abuja to Kogi with his younger brother when the chattered vehicle they were riding in got involved in the accident. All occupants in the car died. Continue...

According to the family spokesman

“Omeiza spoke with his father around 1.30pm Saturday few minutes into the ill fated journey and barely half an hour, we received the shocking and sad news of his demise from a samaritans from the scene of the accident. From the report we received none of passengers on the ill fated Sharon car survived and they have been given mass burial at location at Jere town”.

Speaking on his children's death, Alhaji Momohjimoh Aliyu said he has taken the incident as an act of God ” I have accepted it as an act of God. They are from God and they have returned to Him at appointed time and on our part we have accepted it as an act of God” he said.

Cameroon suspends 2 senior army chiefs after 25 Boko Haram men die in detention

Two of Cameroon's Senior Army officers were suspended yesterday March 14th after 25 Boko Haram members died in detention. The Boko Haram members were arrested in Dec. 2014 during a raid of their camp and have since been in Cameroon prison. Cause of their death is unknown but according to Cameroon military, investigations is ongoing.

The Dam presently at over 90% completion will now serve to ensure;

Water Supply (60,000 Cu.m/Day), Irrigation (Net – 2,000Ha) and provide Electricity - Hydropower generation: (40MW)

The Scope of the Project covers: Construction of the Main Dam; Construction of Water Treatment Plant; Construction of an Access Road; Construction of an Hydropower Plant; Development of Irrigation Network; Construction of Air Strip and Rehabilitation of Kashimbilla - Jato-Aka road (21km). To date, remarkable progress has been achieved in all the various parts of the project. The Kashimbilla Dam project is therefore a proactive preemptive response by the Federal Government of Nigeria to the report of the United Nations Environmental Programme (UNEP) of great catastrophe that might result from imminent collapse of Lake Nyos.

British Airways flight is aborted just minutes after take-off - and you won't believe why

A British Airways flight was forced to return to England because of a 'smelly poo' left in a toilet.
Councillor Abhishek Sachdev, from Hertfordshire, says he was on the BA flight to Dubai when it was forced to return to Heathrow.

It is understood that cabin crew unsuccessfully tried to fix the problem, but the flight was forced to turn around when the odour became unbearable for passengers.


Coun Sachdev, a town councillor in Herftordshire, tweeted:

The Tory councillor, said the flight departed on time Thursday night and everything seemed fine until the captain made an announcement about 30 minutes after take-off when the seven-hour flight was over Belgium.

Coun Sachdev told the Mail Online: "The pilot made an announcement requesting senior cabin crew, and we knew something was a bit odd. About 10 minutes later he said you may have noticed there’s a quite pungent smell coming from one of the toilets. He said it was liquid faecal excrement, those are the words he used. He said it’s not a technical fault with the plane, and he was very adamant about that."

Passengers were then told that the plane would be forced to return to London for health and safety reasons, said Coun Sachdev.

It is believed that passengers were due to board another flight, but what was due to be a three-hour wait turned into a 15 hour delay.

A British Airways spokesperson told the Welwyn Hatfield Times: "We’re very sorry for the discomfort to our customers. We provided them with hotel accommodation and rescheduled the flight to depart the following day’s lunchtime on an alternative aircraft."

A Twitter user showed two random pictures from her experience at Yola Airport. According to her, since the wind blew off the roof of the main terminal, duties at Yola airport are being carried out outside. Another twitter user confirmed that it has been this way for over three years. It was initially fixed but it broke down again due to substandard materials used.
